September 24 – 28

We had a great start to the beginning of the school year and are looking forward to more adventures in learning. This week’s theme is “Fall.” The letter of the week is “Mm,” and our math focus will be numbers 6-10. A home, see if your student can count out 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 items, like socks, beans, or stuffed animals. If this is too hard for them, have them master smaller amounts first. If this is too easy, see if they can grab (estimate) an amount (without counting first) of things that is close to 6, 7, 8, or 9 items. Grabbing 1 thing would not be a reasonable answer, nor would be grabbing 20 of something.

UPDATE: We’ve been discussing the difference in seasons and how leaves change colors and fall from the trees.  For extra stickers, please send some leaves to school with your child on Friday. We will also be doing a special project with the leaves we collect.  Thank you!
