We hope everyone is enjoying the final days of summer before heading back to school! We are so excited to begin a new school year of learning, fun, personal growth, and making new friends.
Our Fall Session #1 runs from September 9 – October 25 (7 weeks). New students will need to print/read/fill out new student information forms located under “Parent Forms/Information” and return the first day of class. These forms are essential for your child’s health and safety. If you participated in our program this summer, your forms are still on file, and you will not need to redo these forms. However, if you have a child who has participated in OC Tiny Tots in the past, but is now in kindergarten or beyond, you will need to submit new, updated forms.
Daily, students will need a bucket (like a mop) marked with their name and a zip lock baggie (marked with name) with a change of clothes (stays in bucket) to carry projects and personal belongings. On the first day of school, please have your $20 materials fee ready for the teacher as well as the dates you’d like to volunteer (calendar will be on the sign in table). You can simply write your student’s name on the dates you can volunteer (2 times mandatory or a $24 fee). Our Student of the Day will be posted under “Calendar” the second week of school. Your child will have the opportunity to be Student of the Day twice per session. That is their day to bring show and tell (no weapons of any kind) and be our special helper.
Our first theme this year is “Welcome to School and All About Me.” We will also focus on the letter “Ss” and the numbers 0 & 1. At home, take about things that start with “Ss” and have your child name some things that they can think of that have the “Ss” sound. Please have your child bring a family photo to class (one that can be cut/glued) on their first day. If your child is new to school and having a hard time leaving their guardian, they may bring a favorite stuffed animal, pillow, book, or blankie to school to help them adjust.
We do suggest that you visit our facility before class begins (Rec Center is closed until 9/5) to show your student where they will be going. It’s also a good idea to use the restroom so students are familiar with the sound of the toilet and can open and shut the stalls by themselves. If you should have any questions, please email Mrs. Goodenough at sdgooden@yahoo.com. We look forward to meeting you and your learner!
